Go Healthy Go Fit’s New Look
Posted on Jan 05, 2009 by Andrew in Uncategorized .
The day has finally come! I’m proud to announce the new website design for Go Healthy Go Fit is now live and working! So here are some of the new features that are available:
- Featured Articles Section: This section will provide a rotating selection of some of the featured blog posts on the site.
- Tag Cloud: This is my favorite new toy. It’s a revolving tag cloud that let’s you pick which tag you want to search under!
- Video Tutorials Sidebar: Now you can watch any video tutorial straight off the home page (Keep an eye on this sidebar section as it is the new home for all video tutorials)
- Lifestream: It’s a news feed feature providing information from my social media applications.
- Summary Style Posts: This way you can see a ton of articles without having to scroll down forever!
…and many many more! I would love to get your feedback on the new look, so don’t forget to leave a comment! I’d like to throw out a huge thanks to Austin Passy a.k.a. “Frosty” for designing the site, he did a great job!

Love the new look (but the featured posts do scroll by a bit fast for me).

Hey Tanya,
Thank you! I see what you mean about the speed of the scrolling feature. If you put your mouse cursor over the featured article section, the scrolling will stop FYI.
Thanks for the feedback!

Hey SoG,
Not to worry. Think of it this way… the “home page” as you knew it in the previous design now starts under the featured articles section. Since they are in summary format, all you need to do is click “continue reading” on the article that you want to read!

Love the new design Andrew. I always feel it’s a good idea to have lots of pictures on the front page of a blog. Sounds simplistic but I think the front page of any site shouldn’t be too content heavy. It should just grab peoples attention and make them want to click an article. Once they have clicked you can then give them some heavier content to read.
To summarise my thoughts…2 THUMBS UP on the new design.

Thanks Tusc! I’m glad you like it. My designer and I worked really hard on the site and there are still some tweaks that we are working on, but it came out exactly the way I had hoped!

that is better. Apparently your layout just really REALLY doesn’t work from my work computer. Here at home it works much better.

oh the tag cloud is way cool Andrew!! I also love your video right there on the front!
SoG - you need a new work computer honey! Are you still running on Win ‘98 there?? hehe!
I don’t know anything about web design, so can’t imagine how you can make it better. I think you and Frosty have done a grand job, well done you two!

Tusc,
I assure you that my company is on the forefront of tech. Unfortunately that means we also have a lot of big brother software in place that tends to interfere with normal computer use
