How Chris Pine Keeps Things In Perspective

While sometimes it’s fun and informative to check out every detail of a fit person’s daily life right down to the sets and
reps of exercises, it can be more effective to study that person’s outlook on life. We get so wrapped up in the details that sometimes we forget that the big picture works as a mechanism, pointing us in the right direction. At least that’s how actor Chris Pine sees it (Men’s Health):
‘The only thing you sometimes have control over is perspective,’ he says. ‘You don’t have control over your situation. But you have a choice about how you view it.’”
It doesn’t matter if you’ve got too much on your plate or nothing seems to be going right for you, everyone has got stress in their life. Life’s little stresses compile, taking a toll on your overall health. While most of us aren’t being thrown offers for movies like the new STAR TREK, it’s always a good idea to take cues from folks, like Chris Pine, who have a beat on how to keep things in perspective (Women’s Health):
I talk to myself, especially in the car. I do it to work through ideas, or if I’m pissed off. I use the interior of the car like it’s a [therapist's office].”
Now, I’m not saying that you should necessarily talk to yourself. However, by addressing your problems systematically, as opposed to letting them pile up to the point of nervous breakdown, while not blowing things out of proportion, we can manage our own stress levels like that of a checklist. You check it off and move on to the next thing. This way, you will keep your stress levels from hitting the roof and thus are more likely to succeed in any exercise you choose.
But how serious is stress in regards to performance? Well, a little stress is okay, in fact some say it may help us focus and perform better. But that’s not the stress I’m talking about. I’m talking about the kind of stress that starts to make you feel as though you’re in a tailspin heading for the ground floor at 100 miles an hour. Check out this graph to better understand the difference (Less Stress):
So if it all seems like too much and you are overwhelmed, break it down to size. That’s how Pine keeps his cool:
‘I play a make-believe captain of a make-believe spaceship. Responsibility is only what you place on yourself.’” (Men’s Health)

The working title was called “Carriers”. It was him and piper perabo (who is AWESOME by the way). Filmed it almost 4 years ago but I have never seen it come out lol. Even on dvd.
