Checking out celebrity workouts - Megan Fox

Posted on Nov 12, 2008 by Andrew in Celebrity Diets & Workouts .

We all know that while diet provides the most results, it’s still only one part of getting into great shape. Working out is the other big part. Yesterday, we took a look at Megan Fox’s diet habits. Today, we’re gonna check out how this “it” girl stays in shape. So now onto the second part of Megan Fox’s edition of Checking Out Celebrity Diets & Workouts!

.

Workout

With striking similarities to the Paleo way of eating, Megan Fox’s diet contains good whole foods and of course, fruits and vegetables. So how does her workout stand up to her diet? Well, she’s just like most people in that she dreads working out.

“I’m very lazy. I hire a personal trainer who is supposed to come three times a week. He comes to me – I don’t even have to leave the house. He’ll come to my house and I’ll be lying in the exact same spot he left me in. I’ll be like: ‘Not today! Not today!’ So, for me to do these scenes [Transformers] was hard but fun.”

I don’t get that feeling for some reason, I love going to the gym. I’ve got that same look on my face as the dog when he hears the word “walk”. I get psyched up for the upcoming workout. But I’m an extremely competitive person so maybe that’s why.

Enough about me, back to Megan Fox! So when she does decide to workout, this 5′6″ 114 pound (height/weight stats by The Fitness Black Book) starlet does the following, according to Celebrity Diets:

  • Butterfly crunches
  • Planks
  • Knee ups
  • Leg swings
  • Ball leg lifts
  • Pilates or cycling

The main focus of her workouts seem to be her core. It’s important to remember that your core isn’t just your abs. The Mayo Clinic states that:

“Your body’s core is the area around your trunk and pelvis. When you have good core stability, the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen work in harmony.”

Keyword there: harmony. That harmony is an “x factor”, so to speak, when it comes to your body’s ability to move. That is, if you over work your abs and other parts of your core are not properly worked out, you won’t have fluid ease of movement necessary to be functionally strong.

So there it is! That concludes Checking Out Celebrity Diets & Workouts with Megan Fox.

In my opinion, posting photos like this could potentially be unhealthy for the women reading your site. Obviously Megan Fox is blessed with good genes and enough money to hire a personal trainer. But the majority of women do not fall into that category. Posting photos of women like this gives the rest of us an unattainable standard. Do you know anyone in real life who is 5′6” 114 lbs and has boobs that size? It’s unrealistic. You should be encouraging people to be the best size and level of athleticism they can be, not throwing up photos of hot actresses with some quote about how they never get off the couch all day. That makes women who DO get off the couch and work their asses off at the gym feel awful because they don’t look like her. I think this is kind of lazy, honestly. Post some encouragement or useful information. Not something we could read in People magazine.

Ok that ended up being harsher than I meant it but you get my point.

    Hey cmb25,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. I really do encourage people to comment as much as possible, especially when they don’t agree with me! To address the issue you brought up, I totally see how you feel and also how really anyone could see this post and come out with that same impression.

That being said, I believe that posts like this should be taken the exact opposite way. Yes, Megan Fox has what seems to be an unattainable body, however if a person is truly willing to do the research and put in the amount of will power that is necessary to achieve their goals, anything is possible!! I really believe that. I wish I could show you a shirtless picture of me when I was obese (truth is I don’t have any because I just wouldn’t take pictures like that back then). My body composition was such that you would think that I had/have the worst genes on the planet. But I looked at guys like Brad Pitt and I said to myself “No matter how long it takes, I want to have a body like that and I’m willing to do the work!!” It inspired me to see success in others! (Now, with regards to the comment you said about “boobs that size”, yes, I agree with you that there really is no way to increase the size of that body part merely through health and fitness)

With regards to your comment about “encouraging people to be the best size and level of athleticism they can be…” - I 100% agree with you. If your goal is to reach 100% of your potential, then you should do it and I’m here to help in any way that I can! However, these days most people are more concerned with the overall look of their body. It’s a serious issue that makes people feel self-conscious. So, that being said, I’m trying to take examples of people who have achieved a great look and then help my readers figure out how they can get there, it’s meant to be inspirational (Also, I really don’t believe that Megan Fox just sits around on the couch all day… everyone likes to downplay how hard they work, most people think it makes them cooler for some reason. But even if she does sit around on the couch all day, who cares!! If for the sake of argument she doesn’t have to work as hard as the rest of us, that doesn’t mean that we can’t get that same look! WE CAN DO IT, I PROMISE YOU!!)

Also, I would like to address the point you made about “Posting photos of women like this…” You’re gonna love this one. If you are up for it, I would like you to take a look at all of the pictures that I have posted on the site. I’ll bet you $20 that I have posted more photos of men with their shirts off than women with their shirts off!!!

Anyways, I hope you can see my side of the coin now and I want to say thank you again for your input. I appreciate every comment and especially thoughtful one’s like yours!

    All the Best,

    Andrew

    hey cmb25,

I completely see your point of view but I found this web site looking for motivation for me to train and eat like a pro. I want killer abs and I am going to do what it takes to get there. This post helps motivate me to stick to my strict diet and push my self to the extreme in the gym. So some may find this post discouraging but for me it is motivating……
