Songs To Help You Kick Holiday Sluggishness

Posted on Dec 26, 2008 by Andrew in Workout Music .

It’s the day after Christmas and that means it’s time to show your dedication to getting in better shape! The best way to motivate yourself to get moving is with inspirational music (Diet Blog):Sluggish Santa

“Thirty participants worked out on a treadmill while listening to specifically selected tracks based on such factors as beat (120-140 beats/minute) and motivating lyrics. They were instructed to keep pace with the beat as much as possible. At the end of the study, participants increased their endurance by and average of 15%.”

Picking a song in a certain beat range is one thing, but finding songs that inspire you is quite another skill. I’ve taken it upon myself to search far and wide for the most inspirational songs ever created. I want you to take these songs and mute out everything else. No one can ever tell you what you can’t do. Remember, in the mind of a true competitor, it’s always “You Vs. You”. So enjoy the songs!

1. Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor
2. Lose Yourself - Eminem
3. Danger Zone - Kenny Loggins
4. You’re The Best - Joe Esposito
5. Holding Out For A Hero - Bonnie Tyler
6. Gonna Fly Now - Bill Conti
7. Push It To The Limit - Paul Engemann
8. We Will Rock You - Queen
9. Remember The Name - Fort Minor
10. No Easy Way Out - Robert Tepper

You love your 80s tunes hey Andrew? I thought you would have had the ‘Hearts on Fire’ in there too. It’s a catchy tune and a great reminder of the workout scene in Rocky IV.

    Miz: I’m a fan too!

Tom: Hearts on Fire would have got the nod, but I didn’t want to have too much Rocky soundtrack love… like that’s even possible!

    All the Best,

    Andrew
