What to look for in an exercise shoe… Part 2

In the post entitled “What to look for in an exercise shoe”, I outlined the specific points necessary for buying walking, hiking, weightlifting and running shoes. But what about team and other competitive sports? Let’s take a look at how buy footwear for football:
Football cleats
Even if you’re a member of a Saturday flag football league, you’re still gonna need to get the proper footwear. Football shoes, or cleats, are specific athletic shoes with either high, mid or low raise profiles. There are also regular and longer size cleats. But there is more to buying a football cleat than just the style, or height, and for that you can check out this buyers guide provided by Dick’s Sporting Goods for how to buy the right football cleats for your style of play. Keep in mind, if you’re using cleats for a “social” league, you’ll probably want to stick with mid to low cut cleats because you’ll be playing different positions, all of which will require a degree of maneuverability. Just make sure to try them on and if you can walk outside with them, perform a few quick moves resembling a cut move you would make on the field.
